Pioneer Community Hospital of Patrick operates a 6 bed emergency room staffed by a physician or nurse practitioner. The ER is equipped to treat all ages with a wide range of medical conditions by physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. A triage nurse evaluates the condition of all patients who enter the emergency department in order to treat the most seriously ill patients first. However, all patients are seen in a timely manner. If a patient's condition can be diagnosed and treated in the emergency department, our emergency physicians will provide the needed care. Patients requiring further treatment may be admitted or stabilized and transferred to a higher level of care.
